Any simple man's dreams
Lack great detail,
As details turn into
An out-of-body experience.
As I think deeper
Into the half-full glass,
I come to realize
That this realm of a millennium
Is half-empty,
Much like the right side of my mind.
I wish not to abolish all my thoughts,
But just have that aphrodisiac-like effect
In which my head becomes numb
And my mind floats
Into another realm of this millennium.
Although the rain may fall,
Lightening will not strike me
Because you strike me every day.
As I stare out of the wet window pane
And the clock hits 12:58,
My out-of-body experience ends
And the children's laughter
Will be heard no more.
